Are you a musician or band in search of an open mic? Are you a band looking to workshop your songs in a live setting? Or just a live music lover interested in supporting a great cause? Then Loudspace’s electric open mic is for you!
Loudspace, Inc. is a nonprofit organization created to provide a free and open environment for musicians to perform, collaborate, and hone their talents. Loudspace is hosting its March 7th Electric Open Mic at Lansing Brewing Company! Electric open mics are open to musicians and bands of all skill levels, ages, and genres, and all equipment and instruments are provided if needed. Guitars, amps, drums, keyboards, the works—the only thing you need to bring is yourself!
For participating musicians:
Upon arriving individual musicians and bands will sign up for a time slot. Participants will also get a name tag on which they can write their name and what instrument(s) they play. Individual musicians can choose to go up solo on their own time slot or join up with complementary musicians at the event. Loudspace staff will assist in joining groups together if need be. Each group should be on stage for no more than 3 songs per set, until everyone has had a chance to go up. Groups are of course encouraged to mix-and-match, getting new groups of people together jamming on stage is our #1 priority! The stage will be completely setup for the event with full professional gear, including: a full PA system (up to 5 microphones), two guitar amps, one 300 watt bass amp, an assortment of electric guitar and basses, acoustic guitars (direct in to PA), A versatile keyboard, and full drum set. The lead microphone will also have an attached ipad stand if participants would like to use it to keep lyrics or sheet music close by. Participants are also more than welcome to bring their own equipment and staff will help them set up upon arrival.
Loudspace, Inc. is a 501c(3) Tax Exempt Nonprofit organization. Monetary donations as well as donations of used music equipment to Loudspace, Inc. are awesome AND Tax deductible!
